In order to develop lighter weight, more efficient, and longer lasting engines, my research combines tribology, contact mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, and machine learning to advance our knowledge of the physics of energy dissipation and interfacial mechanics.

FOE has helped me immensely to develop new collaborations and connections with peers at other institutions, who I would likely not have met otherwise. It has also helped me gain new perspectives on how I can adjust my research to better address the large, societal challenges that we face today.
