I lead a team of materials scientists delivering key high temperature materials technology for industrial gas turbines, including critical new alloys, ceramics, coatings for aviation engines, repair technologies for legacy engines, and new investment-casting technologies
FOE is an amazing opportunity to connect with passionate scientists and engineers in other disciplines. Materials scientists are always working in the context of a bigger, more complex system or even a system of systems. FOE helped me gain exposure to these systems, which has in turn helped me shape and think differently about high temperature materials.
